EDUCATION overview
To develop knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care for individual health care professional working in residential aged care. This includes understanding key principles such as holistic, person-centred care, symptom management, communication, and advanced care planning. By enhancing the competencies of participant, the goal is to ensure that residents with life-limiting illnesses receive compassionate, respectful, and appropriate care, focused on improving quality of life and providing comfort during the end-of-life process. This approach will also foster greater confidence in navigating the emotional and ethical aspects of palliative care within the residential aged care setting.
