EDUCATION overview
This education utilises an evidence-based framework to equip health professionals with the communication skills necessary for effectively engaging with patients facing life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Participants will gain an understanding of how to incorporate patients' values and preferences into care plans, ensuring that treatment is both compassionate and reflective of their preferences.
The program includes simulation-based learning, where participants take part in role-play scenarios with professional actors portraying patients. These scenarios are tailored to real life situations, allowing participants to practice and refine their communication techniques.
During these role-plays, a trained facilitator provides real-time feedback, helping participants learn how to navigate patient values and collaboratively develop tailored treatment plans through shared decision-making.

- Participants will create a personalised script for use in Goals of Patient Care discussions through role-play and self-reflection, ensuring it feels natural and can be easily replicated in clinical practice.
- An opportunity for feedback is made available to learners in the immersive simulation experience from both the simulated patient and the facilitator.
